Step 2

How to Bid

Bidding at a Heath Industrial auction is straightforward. Here are the basics for each format.

🏭 On-Site Auctions

Attend in person and bid by raising your hand or bidder card when the auctioneer calls a lot. The highest bidder when the auctioneer calls "sold" wins the lot. Lots sell quickly — stay focused.

💻 Online Auctions

Browse lots at your own pace and submit bids through the online platform. You can set a maximum bid and the system will automatically bid on your behalf up to that amount. Watch for countdown timers — lots extend when late bids come in.

🎥 Webcast Auctions

Watch the live auction via webcast and bid in real time using your online account. Online bidders compete directly with floor bidders simultaneously. A strong internet connection is recommended.

Important: All bids are binding. Once accepted by the auctioneer or the online platform, you are legally obligated to complete the purchase. Review all lot descriptions and inspection the equipment before bidding.
Step 3

Payment Terms

Payment is due immediately upon the close of the auction unless otherwise stated in the auction-specific terms.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Cash
  • Wire Transfer
  • Cashiers Check
  • Credit Card (4% Surcharge)
  • Sorry No Personal Checks Accepted.

Payment methods and terms may vary by auction. Always review the specific terms listed on each auction's detail page before bidding.

Additional Charges

  • Buyer's Premium: A buyer's premium is added to the hammer price on all lots. The premium amount is stated on each individual auction listing.
  • Sales Tax: Sales tax is collected on applicable purchases as required by Illinois law, unless you provide a valid tax exemption certificate prior to checkout.
  • Invoice: A detailed invoice will be provided at checkout or emailed for online auctions. All charges are itemized.
Step 4

Removal & Pickup

All items must be removed by the stated removal deadline. Review each auction's specific removal schedule carefully.

1

Pay Before You Remove

No equipment may be removed until payment is made in full and a paid invoice is presented to the removal crew.

2

Bring the Right Equipment

Buyers are responsible for all rigging, loading, and transportation. Bring your own dollies, forklifts, straps, and crew. We do not provide rigging services.

3

Meet the Deadline

Items not removed by the deadline may be subject to storage fees or forfeiture. The removal schedule is printed on every auction listing — read it before you bid.

Common Questions

Buyer FAQ

Can I inspect equipment before bidding?

Yes. Inspection dates are listed on every auction page. We strongly encourage all bidders to inspect equipment in person before bidding. All items sell as-is, where-is with no warranties.

What does as-is, where-is mean?

It means the equipment is sold in its current condition, at its current location, with no warranties or representations regarding its condition, functionality, or fitness for any purpose. You are buying what you see.

Is there a buyer's premium?

Yes. A buyer's premium is added to the hammer price on all lots. The specific percentage is listed on each auction detail page.

Can I send someone else to pick up my items?

Yes, but they must bring a copy of your paid invoice and photo ID. Contact our office in advance to authorize a third-party pickup.

What happens if I win but cannot pay?

Failure to pay is a breach of contract. We reserve the right to re-sell the item and hold the original buyer responsible for any deficiency. Defaulting bidders may be banned from future auctions.

Do you offer shipping or delivery?

We do ship small items, palletize larger ones and coordinate transport . We do not disconnect or handle heavy hauling.
